Obica Mozzarella Bar Restaurant
Healthy restaurant chain specialised in mozzarella
At first glance, with its minimalist decor, this restaurant appears to be a sushi bar but is in fact based on the staple ingredient Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP. It is now a worldwide chain with three restaurants in Milan, including this one on the Piazza Duomo.
The mozzarella, served fresh daily, can be eaten as an appetizer, salad or main course combined with various traditional Italian ingredients including prosciutto ham, rocket leaf salad, tomatoes and capers. They also offer salads, pizzas as well as starters, fish and meat. Their home-made desserts include all the Italian classics.
Located on the 7th floor of the Rinascente shopping centre, this restaurant boasts a large terrace with stunning views of the Duomo. Open Monday to Saturday from 08:30 to midnight, and Sunday from 09:30 to midnight. Every day, from 18:00, enjoy their 'aperitivo' with tastings of mozzarella cheese and other tapas.
There's also one restaurant of the same chain in the Brera district, and another one in Terminal 1 of the Milano Malpensa Airport.
Visitor comments
- "A great dining option with a view of the Milan Duomo spires in a trendy but casual atmosphere. Highly recommend the Mozzarella tasting plate that comes with an assortment of smoked, delicate and intense flavored Mozzarella balls. The delicate one is out of this world. They also had great pizzas and fine wines from the Lombardy and Piemonte regions." - Trip Advisor
- "Obica Duomo offers one of the best views in town with high value of food and service. We were three and shared a 5-mozzarella tasting plate and had a bottle of Lambrusco. The cheeses were so filly that counted as a lunch for us.The taste of buffalo and stracciatella were impeccable." - Trip Advisor
- "Food Is good, but you cant' beat the view. It is just worth to go there to get aperitivo and watch the Duomo." - Trip Advisor
